VRS Reamers
SlimDril International supply VRS (Versatile Reaming System) Reamers, a roller-cone embedded hole opener designed for drilling in soft through to very hard formations where rock crushing delivers superior performance compared to shearing.
Equipped with unique spiral centralisation, VRS reamers provide smoother, more stable drilling and improved hole quality across a wide range of HDD applications.

Optimised for Crushing Hard Formations
Roller-cone design delivers efficient rock crushing performance in formations ranging from soft to very hard ground.
Field-Changeable Cutter System
Unique dovetail insertion and locking system allows a wide range of cutter types to be interchanged in the field, with weight on bit (WOB) pressing the cones securely into the body.
Bi-Directional Reaming Capability
Designed for both push and pull reaming, providing flexibility across different drilling methods and site conditions.
Rebuildable to As-New Condition
Bodies can be 3D scanned, rebuilt, and hard-faced, extending tool life and maximising long-term value.
Interchangeable Cutter Compatibility
Certain sizes share common cutters (e.g. 12″ & 15″, 18″, 20″ & 24″), allowing cutters to be swapped between bodies to reduce spare inventory.
Enhanced Wear Protection & Fluid Management
Front and rear tungsten carbide nozzles, tungsten inserts on wearing edges, rear cutting wings, and a tapered rear profile improve durability and ease of pushing out when required.
